It has been nearly two years since the last regular episode of Late Night Soaring. Now, the wait is finally over as we return with a special feature guest-starring Gordon Boettger.

After 74 episodes spanning three years, the joint project between Königsdorf and Unterwössen finally came to an end. At the time, Mathias Schunk noted in the intro of the final episode that they had "burnt out." However, a revival was never off the table, and the project saw its first rebirth following the historic 2,000 km Alpine flight in April 2025.

Now, another milestone in gliding history has unfolded, and Benjamin Bachmaier and Mathias Schunk sat down with pilot Gordon Boettger to discuss it: On December 19, 2025, Gordon and Bruce Campbell completed a massive 1,664 km declared straight-out flight, soaring from Minden, Nevada, all the way to Dodge City, Kansas.

So, for all you Late Night Soaring fans out there, mark your calendars! Starting Thursday, Jan 15th at 8:30 PM (German time), a brand-new episode is back with that familiar greeting: "This is Late Night Soaring."
